Creating Exit Tickets

Add Written Response Mastery Questions to an Exit Ticket

Teachers can add written response questions to mastery tickets. These questions can be:

  • Open-ended/reflective (no correct answer), or

  • Scored (with a correct answer).

Add a Written Response Question

  1. Create an exit ticket.

  2. In the Mastery Questions menu (bottom left), select Add a Written Response question.

Open-Ended or Reflective Questions (No Correct Answer)

  1. Enter your question.

  2. Make sure Enable Scoring is disabled (toggle is gray and to the left).

  3. View student responses from the Exit Ticket Summary page by clicking the mastery question.

Written Response Questions with a Correct Answer

  1. Enter your question.

  2. Turn on Enable Scoring (toggle is blue and to the right).

  3. After students submit responses, the Exit Ticket Summary page will show Needs Scoring for any mastery questions with answers that have not been scored.

  4. Click the mastery question to review responses.

    • Use the ✓ or ✗ to mark answers correct or incorrect.

    • Click the blue comment icon to leave an optional note on any response.

Once all responses are scored, the Exit Ticket Summary will display a summary of student scores instead of Needs Scoring.

Tip: Be sure to score all written response questions before Friday morning, when Weekly Reports are generated, to keep mastery data accurate.
